但是有時候是不是不知道要怎麼樣去應用這些句子呢?

1. Absence makes the heart grow fonder  久別情更深

This is used to say that the lack of something makes a person want it more. Often used with love - When someone you love is far away from you (whether for a while or for a brief time), it makes you realize even more how much you love them, and it makes you love them even more.

 這是用來表示當沒有了某樣東西會讓人更想擁有它。常用在愛情的關係中-當你愛的人遠離你(無論是離開一陣子或一小段時間)，會讓你了解到你有多愛他們，而且甚至會因此更愛他們。

2. All good things must come to an end  天下無不散之宴席

Shows that nothing lasts forever, and that eventually it is the natural way for the good things in life to pass or end and shows a little bit of sadness at saying goodbye or seeing those things end. Life ends in death; romance can end in the end of romance; Youth ends in old age.

這句話是說沒有任何事物會持續到永遠，而生命中美好的事物終究都會過去或結束，在說再見或看著那些事情結束時，這樣的話顯示?一點悲傷的感覺。生命結束於死亡；愛情故事在戀情結束時終止；晚年結束了青春。

3. A change is as good as a rest  改變就是最好的休息

This is one of those commonsense expressions. It means that it is as good for you to help you relax or feel better about life to do something different or go somewhere different as it is to get some good sleep. I guess the idea is, that when you do something different or go somewhere different, you are learning new things and focusing on new things, so it keeps you interested.

這是屬於常識的句子。意思是說，做些不一樣的事情或去不一樣的地方，能幫助你放輕鬆或對生活感覺好些，而那和好好睡一覺一樣棒。(我想)意思是說，當你做些不一樣的事或去不一樣的地方，就會學習新的事物並且專注其上，所以那樣能讓你對不同事物保持興趣。

4. Beauty is only skin deep  美麗是膚淺的

This expression means that a person might be attractive on the outside, but this does not say anything about her real character. For example a person might be beautiful, but he/she is still a bad person and to find out one needs to look further than just the pretty face. 

這句話意思是說一個人的外表可能很吸引人，但是這和他真正的個性沒有關係。例如，某人可能很美，但是他/她卻是個壞人，因此，要認清一個人需要多觀察，而不是只看美麗的外表。

5. Cut your coat according to your cloth  量力而為

Don't try to do something that you weren't made to do. If you are a bus driver, don't try to be a ballerina. Don't overstretch your bounds. So, choose what you do in life based on if it fits you, not struggle to do something that doesn't fit you. 

不要嚐試做那些你天生不適合做的事。如果你是個公車司機，不要試著當芭蕾女伶。不要做超過自己能力的事。所以，在生活中選擇適合自己做的事，不要和那些你不適合的東西奮戰。
