 act as a guinea pig

中譯：當白老鼠

英譯：to allow some kind of test to be performed on someone

例句：I was not happy to act as a guinea pig on the new training material.

對於成為新的訓練教材的白老鼠，我很不開心。

 banker's hours

中譯：輕鬆、時間短的工作（舊時銀行業工作時間短，大約是從早上十點工作到下午兩點，所以大家戲稱輕鬆、工時短的工作為banker’s hour。）

英譯：short work hours (like the old hours of a bank when they were rather short)

例句：The man has his own company and likes to work banker's hours.

那位男士有自己的公司而且喜歡輕鬆、短時地工作。

 can't stand (someone or something)

中譯：無法忍受；不喜歡

英譯：to dislike someone or something very much

例句：My uncle cannot stand his daughter's boyfriend.

我叔叔不喜歡堂姊的男朋友。

 dance to a different tune

中譯：改變作風；改弦易轍

英譯：to change one's behavior or attitude

例句：Our boss began dancing to a different tune when the head salesman decided to quit.

從我們的超級業務員決定辭職後，老闆開始改變作風。

 jet lag 

中譯：時差

英譯：to be tired because you have travelled a long distance in an airplane and have crossed many time zones so your body cannot adjust

例句：I had jet lag for several days after my long trip.

在長途旅行之後我現在有嚴重時差。

 nobody’s fool

中譯：聰明的人

英譯：a smart person, a person who can take care of himself or herself

例句：Mary is nobody's fool. She watches out for people who might try to cheat her.

瑪莉是聰明的人，她總是很注意身旁有可能會欺騙她的人。
